Things I take for granted...

There are so many things that I take for granted. During my run today, I started thinking about how blessed I am, that I have the ability to run. But even more than running, that I have been given, yet another day to live.
I heard a story last night about a man who developed a disease in his throat which took away his ability to speak, unless he used a voice box. Every time he spoke, he had to push the button on his voice box, and what sounded like a mere whisper would come out of his mouth. At this point, the story had already made me realize how much I hadn't appreciated the little things, especially after hearing how this man would say how much he longed to be able to sing for God out loud instead of in a whisper.

What an amazing story and one that truly makes me look at things differently. Most importantly, this man, even with his limited vocal ability, still wanting to sing out loud for God.
I do take the little things for granted. I'm so glad I heard this story.
